Another 678 students allotted hostels after clean-up operation LAHORE: (Saturday, May 17, 2025): On the instructions of Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali the administration conducted the hostel clean-up operation as a result of which another 678 deprived students of morning programs have been allotted rooms. According to a spokesperson of Punjab University, 678 students of morning programs, who belong to other provinces and remote areas, were deprived of hostels due to illegal occupiers. He said that due to the hostel operation, more students from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh have been accommodated. He said that the number of students belonging to Balochistan has increased to 281 and 192 students belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, the number of students belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan has increased to 165 while the number of students belonging to Sindh has increased to 116. He said that the number of students from Kashmir has increased to 36. The spokesperson said that strict checking in the hostels will continue on the instruction of PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali.
